    The Operatives NEED YOU!

    http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/archives/2007/11/save_the_date_d.html

The SG prestige grant is happening on Monday - and whilst you can look at it from one direction and say that it's a nice thing, greedy people like me can look at it from the other direction and say that for every SG member *under* the cap (i think it's 150 now?), it'll COST the Operatives 20,000 prestige (that they could have had).

So basically this is a shout out - if you have some free time over the weekend, I'd be immensely grateful if anyone with active accounts could check that they don't have any 'fallow' slots on Virtue, and if so if they could create some 'pad' characters and catch me (i'll try to be on almost all day sunday (GMT)) for supergroup invites to the Operatives.

If you don't have an account, then a trial one from http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/archives/2007/11/14day_free_tria.html works just as well (in fact it may work a bit better! - a trial account means 12 empty slots (or 240,000 prestige - that's about a month of solid farming!)

Oh, also, if you do still have an active account, then like me you can temporarily create 3 extra accounts (36 slots, 720,000 prestige) with the 'refer a friend' scheme.

Oh, needless to say, I have my Operatives fedora on for this post, but it's all equally true for the Trimmers SG - i'm sure that Fulcrum wouldn't sniff at some free prestige (although the Trimmers base is already *far* too good imho ;)

    I'll gladly help out!...

...if you pay to reactivate my account. :)

WARNING: This poster knows nothing about "World of Warcraft" and any comments should be considered in that context.Any resemblance between what this poster says about WoW and what actually happens in WoW is purely coincedental.

How do I create the 3 extras?

Well, at least the way it used to work, on your PlayNC account it gave the option to send a 'free trial code' to a friend in with all the billing information.
And I? I stand in the dark with a pick in my hand striking at heads! I need, more desperately than my children need me, a way of seeing in the dark. What way is this? What dark is this? ... I cannot call it ordained of God. I cannot get that far. I will, however, pay it so much homage. There is now in my mouth this sharp chain. And it never comes out.

    Re: The Operatives NEED YOU!

getting the three accounts is (fairly) easy:

    http://www.cityofheroes.com/community/referral_program.html

the only arseache about it is that you have to register a new plaync account for each one - but that only takes about 40 seconds.  Also you need 3 different email addresses to send the invites to (one of them can be your own though!)

The Operatives ranks has just been joined by 'Presti One' through 'Presti TwentyFour', which is 480k prestige right there.  This takes the current membership up to 50, which will get us 1,000,000 prestige when the servers go down tomorrow.  150 (and thus 3mil prestige) would be better of course ;)

(whatever happened to the Ops membership? - i'm sure we were knocking around the 75 members mark back in the old days when that was the cap)
