Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic

Not much longer than 5 years ago SWG released.  Seems like ages ago.......  and lots of memories.

How would the Trimmers approach this one?  All in?  Whom ever is interested?

I have to say that it has potential.

    Hope you have been well.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic

meh, whoever is interested but I don't think that'll be a problem.

The game is being developed by three great companies. Well, i'm not so sure about Lucasarts but EA and Bioware have done some great stuff in the past. The KotoR was very popular and in my opinion very well done. Also, i've never played Mass Effect but i've also been told that it was quite amazing as well.

I think one of the problems with SWG (Among the many) was the time period it was set in. They really didn't have too much freedom to do what they wanted. (Now that I think about it they actually did whatever they wanted whether or not it was true to the timeline.) SW:ToR is set in a wonderful part of the Star Wars universe. A part that hasn't been written. They can pretty much do whatever they want for the most part.

I think that this may be the next game that really pulls the Trimmers back together into one game.

LucasArts is involved in every Star Wars game.  Even KoToR.  Not sure how many of you have played the Force Unleashed but it's possibly my favorite Star Wars game ever.

I liked your first response, Roroshor.

I'm not sure that I heard the story of how Trimmers were in SWG.  If it was a good experience, or if it wasn't.  I enjoyed SWG, for the most part.  I've been really looking forward to something like this to pull a solid player base together and have a blast.

I know LucasArts are involved in all Star Wars games but i'm unsure how much involvement they have with them. I have played Force Unleashed to the end and while I don't believe it wasn't the best Star Wars game i've played I did enjoy it.

I've played SWG with and without the Trimmers and the brief time I had to play with them was more enjoyable than without. The same goes for WoW. For me, having the Trimmers (old and new) will definately increase how much I enjoy the game.

Also, I've just finished reading Darth Bane: Path of Destruction and Darth Bane: Rule of Two which I enjoyed a great deal and found extremely interesting. I had a hard time putting it down and would recommend it to anyone interested in Star Wars. They are both written by Drew Karpyshyn which worked on Knights of the Old Republic and I would assume and hope that he's working on The Old Republic. Stop by a bookstore and pick these books up!

I'll most likely take a look at the game, seeing as how it is probably 2-3 years off from release.
